World Ballet Company: The Nutcracker at Majestic Theatre Dallas

You'd think it would be really hard to outdo yourself year after year when you're putting on the same performances. In a way, though, the World Ballet Company has mastered not only The Nutcracker, but a lot of the other regular ballet classics that they put on. What performing the same show allows you to do is tweak and use elements that you know the audience loved in old iterations, while continuing to add new wrinkles to the performance. One thing that never gets old, though, is the traditional Nutcracker. You're going to get a taste of that from the moment that you walk into the Majestic Theatre on Thursday, December 18th. Once that happens, you're going to be filled with the holiday spirit that you likely came here looking for.  

Elements of The World Ballet Company's The Nutcracker that Make the Show Special

The World Ballet Company makes an effort to ensure that the characters are living and breathing. A lot of the performances that offer The Nutcracker will create a huge doll and almost dance around it. It's a rat army, but you only get the rat king character. In this version, everything is living, breathing, and moving in a way that enhances both the dance element and the story arc. Sorry about the spoilers in this one, but there's a good chance that you know the story well by this point. 

Finding Your Seats Inside the Majestic Theatre

This is a cozy theater that's going to make you feel "close" to the stage even from the back rows. Don't be afraid to find a spot that's seemingly far away from the action. It's better to have a wide view of the performance. It allows you to grasp the stage design and maybe even value the dance numbers more than you would if the action were taking place right in front of you.
