Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky composed the marvelous two-act ballet 'The Nutcracker' based on Alexandre Dumas' 1844 short story 'The Tale of a Nutcracker' and with masterful choreography by Marius Petipa, it became one of the world's choice, most in demand and well-liked classical ballets in history.
'The Nutcracker' - featuring adored tunes such as the scintillating 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy', the jolly 'Russian Dance', the beautiful 'Waltz of the Flowers' and the legendary 'March' - explores the story of young Clara who receives a odd-looking wooden Nutcracker doll from her eccentric godfather on Christmas Eve. After everyone has gone to bed and much to Clara's delight, the living room transforms into a wonderland where the toys come to life, with whom she embarks on an exciting adventure.
Apart from the stunning tale at its core, 'The Nutcracker' also features something epic for the art-lover: awe-inspiring artistry - from hair-raising lifts and stunning leaps to insane spins and show stopping, elegant dancing, from unexpected choreography and riveting puppetry to exquisite hand-crafted costumes and scenery and of course, Tchaikovsky's incomparable score to underline the stagecraft. This production features a live orchestra performing Tchaikovsky's epic score, over 150 sparkling hand-sewn costumes and hand-painted sets that bring the magic to life.

The performance runs 1 hour 40 minutes including a 20-minute intermission and is recommended for ages 2+.
