Iron & Wine is making a grand return with their seventh studio album, "Light Verse." Let us be the first to tell you that fans are in for a treat! Sam Beam has been busy cooking up some magic, and he's finally ready to share it with the world. "Light Verse" drops on April 26th, courtesy of Sub Pop, marking Iron & Wine's first album in seven years.

Beam has blessed fans with the album's first single, "You Never Know," giving us a taste of what's to come. Picture signature finger-plucked guitar work blending seamlessly into harmony-filled folk pop goodness. It's the kind of track that sticks with you, with Beam singing about the twists and turns of life and how you never know where it'll take you. Fiona Apple joins the party with a stunning duet called "All in Good Time." With vocals like theirs, you know it's going to be something special.

Beam went all out for "Light Verse," producing the album in Los Angeles and bringing in a 24-person orchestra to add some extra magic to four of the tracks. Talk about epic!

Light Verse's announcement comes right before Iron & Wine's 2024 North American headline tour kicks out this summer. Iron & Wine will spend the summer touring cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Brooklyn, and Toronto following the tour's June 14 start date in Milwaukee.

2018's Weed Garden EP and 2017's Beast Epic preceded Iron & Wine's Light Verse. The band also contributed to the music to Who Can See Forever, a concert film and documentary that chronicles one of Iron & Wine's performances at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, North Carolina.

Light Verse Tracklist:
01. You Never Know
02. Anyone’s Game
03. All in Good Time (feat. Fiona Apple)
04. Cutting It Close
05. Taken by Surprise
06. Yellow Jacket
07. Sweet Talk
08. Tears That Don’t Matter
09. Bag of Cats
10. Angels Go Home

About Iron and Wine:
Beam kicked things off down in Florida, just cranking out homemade CD-R recordings like nobody's business.

But it wasn't long before he caught the attention of Sub Pop Records and dropped his debut album, "The Creek Drank the Cradle," in 2002. This gem of an album blended folk, indie rock, and country vibes, really showcasing Beam's raw talent and heartfelt songwriting.

Since then, Iron & Wine has been on a journey of musical exploration. They're always tinkering with new sounds, beefing up their production, and adding layers of instrumentation to their tracks. And let's not forget Beam's lyrics - they're like a window into his soul, touching on love, sorrow, and spirituality in that dreamy, introspective way that's uniquely Iron & Wine.

Their music has made its way into all sorts of movies and TV shows, from "Twilight" to "Garden State" to "Grey's Anatomy." And they've collaborated with some incredible artists like Jesca Hoop and Calexico, just to name a few.
