Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) is a jazz collective spearheaded by the leader and arranger Scott Bradlee. The origins of PMJ began when Bradlee, a New York-based jazz musician, started shooting videos with friends in his basement. They perform jazz, retro, and swing versions of modern pop songs and upload the videos on Youtube. Soon enough, the views started to pour in. Today, PMJ has amassed more than 1.8 billion views. The group has covered songs from Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo, Kid Laroi, The Strokes, and many more. Since PMJ is a jazz collective, many musicians are on rotation. With Bradlee as the band leader, Postmodern Jukebox has been joined by over 70 musicians from around the world. They have also featured guest singers, such as contestants from American Idol, The Rembrandts, and other celebrities.

Some of PMJ’s most iconic covers include Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance,” The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star,” and George Michael’s “Careless Whisper.” The band spent their early years garnering views on Youtube, but they finally released their debut EP in 2013, titled, Introducing Postmodern Jukebox. The EP debuted at number 8 on Billboard’s Top Jazz Albums chart and number 31 on the Top Heatseekers chart. PMJ continued to perform impressively with their subsequent album on the Jazz Albums charts. Their latest record, The Essentials III, was released in 2020 and featured iconic covers of “Old Town Road,” “Bad Romance,” “Genie in a Bottle,” “Mad World,” and many more.
