MATTEO LANE, the NYC-based comedian is taking his newest hour of stand-up comedy "CAN'T STOP TALKING" to the road. Known for his work on Netflix's The Comedy Lineup and the special "Stand Out: An LGBTQ+ Celebration", he won the world's hearts for his hard-hitting tales, especially as an openly gay comedian. Amidst a spotlight of straight comics, Matteo Lane continues to slay and spread as much joy, laughter, and empowerment in his performances.
Named as one of Variety's Tope Ten Comics to Watch with over 1.5M followers across social media, he's performed at jam-packed and sold-out shows globally. Before kicking off his beautiful journey into comedy, Matteo Lane knows five languages - English, Italian, Spanish, and French, and German, while singing opera at the age of 15. He also studied art - mastering his skills in oil painting and drawing. Prior to diving into the stand-up scene, he worked as an oil painter and opera singer right before taking the step of joining open mics in Chicago.
In a conversation with Philadelphia Gay News, Matteo shares how his best ideas come from writing with the audience... "I write on stage, so I use the Comedy Cellar in New York to write. I can’t sit at a coffee shop and write for hours. My brain just doesn’t do that," he explains. "So what I do is I have ideas and go on stage, and record myself and work them out on stage. Write with the audience."
